This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
Has been repossesed by becu and will be sold by collatoral recovery services Inc located at: 621 37th at wa auburn, wa 98002. They have been informed of the following defects: 1)none of the turn signals work. This has been an intermittent problem since purchasing the vehicle. The several fuses have been replaced, but the malfunction continues. 2)the warning sound, for the headlines being left on when the door is open, no longer functions. The fuse has been tested and replaced, but the malfunction continues. 3)the warning sound for the driverS seatbelt, to remind to fasten them, no longer works. The fuse has been tested and replaced, but the malfunction continues. 4)with all the problems regarding the fuses listed above, there may be the possibility that the fuse box is defective or there is a problem in the wiring. There has not been any diagnostic testing because of the prohibitive costs. 5)the tires are recent purchase from sears, but there are defects in the tires. The passenger rear tire has a slow leak that has been temporarily sealed with seal-tite in a can (a friend gave me hers). The front drivers side tire also has a slow leak, and Ive not been able to afford a can of seal-tite, and have just been refilling the tire as needed. 6)the power windows movement up and down are particularly slow and the gears seem ready to break down anytime. There may also be an undetected electrical problem here as well. 7)the brakes need serious work. They have been grinding a very long time. The brake pads, rotors and drums may all need to be replaced, as well as the brake fluid. 8)the vehicle has not had itS 100,000 miles, the 125,000 or the 130,000 miles maintenance work done. It has not had a tune up since my purchase and have only been able to procure oil changes infrequently.
Windshield washer failure with intermittent failure problems since the vehicle was purchased. Exact symptoms as outlined in recall campaign id# 98V150000 and 98V150001.
Windshield wipers do not come on a lot of the time. This is extremely dangerous as we live in rainy pacific northwest and we end up driving up to 1/2 hour in rain before they come on if they come on at all. This is a huge hazard as it could lead to a very serious and devastating injury or loss. I have not contacted a dealer yet but the problem seems to becoming much worse. It started out infrequently and not for a long time before the wipers would come on, but now it is chronic, it is nearly every time.
Vehicle lost power steering and power brakes at same time while approaching a stop light. Vehicle taken to the dealer shop, and informed that cooling line to power steering was leaking ( no sign of cut or rust/corroded). Dealer waiting on part. Also, windshield wipers worked intermittently, and were not covered under a manufacturer's recall. Please feel free to provide any further details on this matter.
While driving 30 mph vehicle lost power brakes and power steering. Towed to dealer who found power steering cooling line to be at fault, since it is connected to power brakes they failed as well. Also windshield wipers only work intermitterntly.
Consumer was traveling in rainy weather & windshield wipers were not working. Consumer took vehicle into dealer, and they changed the module. This vehicle had the same problem as the one mentioned in a manufacturer's recall. However, this vehicle was not included in recall due to VIN. Consumer was fustrated that recall did not include his vehicle.
Windshield wipers intermittently work. Wipers will stop while in use or not turn on at all. The driver side window will stop in process of being rolled up or down. Will work and then slow down to a complete stop while closing or opening.
Windshield wipers worked intermitently, occurred mostly in hot weather. Dealer notified, and informed consumer that repairs would be at consumer's cost.
The wipers have an int. Problem. It sounds just like the one in bulletin # 98V150000. I see there that it covers the trucks and not the vans. Also the a\C clutch has some diagonal bands on the front, they broke away from the center and opened up like flail knives and cut every belt, hose, and wire near the clutch until one of the bands broke off and went flying around under the hood causing alot of dammage and a big mess. My a\C has never worked right since. Sorry about the VIN I do not have access to the van at this time, if you would need it at a latter time I could get it. I do not wish to give my dealers name because they have treated me well its just that their hands are tied.
At idle at a stop light, the windshield wipers stalled in the mid position. We turned the engine off and restarted it and the wipers did not restart until about 5 minutes had passed. After about 30 more minutes of driving we stopped for lunch and when we restarted the car again it worked normally. We drove for another 100 miles turned the car off and when we restarted it the wipers didn't start until 30 minutes had passed with the engine on and the wiper knob activated.
