TL contact owns 2000 GMC Jimmy. The stated that while driving, the vehicle suddenly shut off because no fuel was being pumped in. The vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer who stated that the fuel pump was defective. The contact stated that the failure occurred several times. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000 and the current mileage was 138,000.
The entire car is defective, though it does not state it is a lemon. I purchased it used. I have replaced many major parts that are not considered routine maintenance, such a driver's door hinges and bearings, hood release cable, steering arm (twice) hubs (twice) the wiring system is faulty. I have gone through 4 alternators in under 2 1/2 years.
2000 GMC Jimmy has had 4 fuel pumps in last year and a half just stopping while driving in traffic and 2 transmissions same as fuel pumps stopping while in heavy traffic. Wiring harness very brittle.
