Sensor light came one. Was told by wright automotive that ABS chip and ABS pump (master cylinder) needed to be replaced. Questioning the failure of the ABS system and the current attention GMC is giving to the brakes. Also, should both systems short out at the same time" is this a normal repair for a car with only 56,000 miles? does the chip GMC thinks it needs to replace shorting out? could it of caused my problem" thank you for taking the time to read this. Braking in cold weather (<20degrees) after driving less than 600ft, applied brakes to stop at intersection. Brake peddle went to the floor stop with little braking action. Engine also surged as peddle went to floor. Dealer replaced ABS unit (major assembly "modulator") because of other ABS failures. After replacing unit the truck again responded the same way under the same weather conditions. Appears to be related to cold braking equipment. Potential crash hazard high do to surging of engine.
This is the 2nd time I have reported this problem. I never got a response from the 1st one (about 2 1/2 months ago). Would someone please tell me what is going on" I have a baby in the vehicle with me and do not particularly care to be in an accident because of continued ABS failure. There are numerous complaints in your database now from people with the same problems as me. Why hasn't something been done? are you waiting for someone to be killed" I saw a website about 3 months ago where a woman did. Her husband said she had the same problems with her 1995 Jimmy as everyone else had - the ABS!
