The contact owns a 2006 GMC Envoy. While driving approximately 35 mph with the air conditioner activated, a strong burning odor emitted through the air vents. Suddenly the heater blower failed to operate. The contact continued to drive the vehicle but later discovered that the heater blower wiring connector was melted and had damaged the relay resistor module. The manufacturer was notified of the defect. There was a voluntary recall issued by the manufacturer for the 2006 Sierra 1500 vehicle pertaining to the faulty relay resistor module and wire connector but not for the Envoy. The approximate failure mileage was 30,000.
