Cpsc#I11B0246A. 2006 GMC Envoy. Consumer stated that in trying to avoid a collision what happen was the failure of his ABS system caused the brakes to lock up throwing the vehicle out of control. The consumer stated he swerved violently to the left, and he instinctively steered to the right, and the vehicle went to the left and then to the right again. The consumer was able to get the vehicle under control. He was surrounded by smoke that smelled like burning rubber. The consumer took the vehicle to the dealer. However, they were unable to find a problem.
The contact owns a 2006 GMC Envoy. She experienced failures with the ABS system. The fuel gage registered empty when the gas tank was full and also the seats and windows electrical switch. While driving at night on August 11,2009 all lights failed. She will take the vehicle to the dealer. The failure mileage was unknown and the current mileage was 41,590.
