The contact owns a 2005 GMC Envoy. While driving at various speeds, the rear of the vehicle abruptly dropped to the ground. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for diagnostic testing, however, the details could not be provided. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 101,000.
Rear suspension on my 2005 GMC Envoy denali has an air load leveling system. It continuously deflates. Manufactures owners manual says after 3 days of non-use will it deflate. While driving, the air compressor starts intermittently to inflate it back up. This started in October of 2008, and continues to this day.
While driving driver heard a loud banking noise coming from the rear of the vehicle. Drive took the vehicle to the dealer for inspection, but mechanic could not duplicate the problem.
