What would make a steering box fail. 80000 KM is only around 50000 miles. There was a whine developed in the car - worse when I backed up- when I turned the steering wheel to go ahead it shook in my hands. I thought it was a fan belt until I took it to the GMC dealer and was told it was the steering box. Has anyone else had this problem. I'm going to receive a heafty bill when I pick it up today.
