Yet ANOTHER problem with the SUV from HELL!! For about 2 weeks my 2005 Envoy won't start on the first try. I put the key in, turn the key, it doesn't turn over. Sometimes, it won't even make a noise, as if I didn't even have the key in the ignition. So I found out a trick to make it turn on the first try. I put the key in, turn it to accessories and then turn it back off. Then I turn it the entire way and it works fine. It never stalled out and it would worked perfectly fine after that. That would happen every now and then. But then it stopped doing that completely and I thought maybe the moisture had something to do with it since it was very wet recently. So after a week of it working fine, no problems, my husband, three year old son and I are driving down a busy highway near home and hear dinging and the ABS light came on and the Emergency Brake lights came on as we were driving along. ?? So he tests the brakes, they are fine. Nothing is wrong. I thought to myself, maybe it's a bad sensor. The SUV is only 2 years old, but maybe that's it. Then the lights go off and we continue home. We get about 1 mile away from our house and we start down a hill (thank god) and the car shuts off while we are driving it! No warning lights!!! We couldn't even tell it actually turned off! It just drifted and about 10 seconds after we noticed something ODD all the lights on the panel came on. So we drift down the road and my husband shifts into N and tries to start it. Nothing happens. We drift UP a hill, through a stop sign and into a parking lot. So he parks it. First thing out of my mouth... this is the THIRD time this happened!!!!!!! So he says the battery is dead. Well, if you are driving and the car dies WHILE you are driving. It isn't the battery. Maybe a short?? Who knows. His dad comes to jump our LOVELY piece of crap SUV and NOTHING happens. EXCEPT when you turn the key to accessories, the RPM's go NUTS!!!! Again, this is why I call the damn thing Christine. Only difference this time... the gear shift WILL NOT MOVE, the brakes and gas will not move. The ONLY thing that will move inside of the car is the E brake. It goes up and down. THAT IS IT! So it gets towed AGAIN! They call a few hours later and say I have a bad ignition switch. Now I am not a car expert by ANY means, but would that make the ABS and the E Brake lights come on and the car die WHILE we were driving it???? Oh, not to mention, lock everything up?? Whatever. It better have fixed it. I haven't picked it up yet. We will see soon enough. UNLESS I trade the stupid thing in!
