This is my 3rd complaint, but of a different nature.

While driving on a highway, the Envoy had a major hesitation but continued running. Shortly after, the engine light came on. It idled rough when stopped.

I researched the problem and found that it is a fairly common issue according to complaints I read.

I visited my local GMC service dealership, spoke directly to the service manager and explained the situation. I also explained what I found regarding the complaints I read about. He said "it looks like you've done your homework". I also mentioned the gas gauge bracket issue and the speedometer module issue (previous complaints posted here) and asked if GMC would work with me on the repair costs. He said he'd have to check with corporate and would get back to me. After 2 weeks I called him, had to reiterate the problem, and was again told he'd have to check with corporate. Again, after 2 weeks I called back. He said he did not check with corporate but because I was over the 100,000 mile warranty, there is nothing they can do.

I went to several other repair garages to find that the problem was definitely in the 6th cylinder - and could replace the engine with a used certified engine with various amounts of mileage, replace the speedometer module & repair the gas gauge bracket, all for $2k to $3k.

This is the 3rd GMC/Chevy SUV I've owned as I try to "buy American", and the 3rd time I've had engine problems. I will drive this car until it dies as I refuse to spend that kind of money on a vehicle that has issues recognized by GMC. And I will never purchase another vehicle from them.
