tailgate either locks and won't unlock or doesn't lock at all. rear defroster works intermittently and the windshield wiper and washer fluid works sometimes too....has happened since I owned the vehicle for the past 9 years

my 2004 gmc envoy xuv v8 . had a roof and end gate problem .. the computer for the roof was detecting the end gate was open so nothing was working proper ,,the hinge on the door was sending a false signal so my roof was open ,could not close it had to go to the dealer and paid 2200 $ and change everything possible .. and at the end realized that the hinge of 100 $ was the problem .....

The plastic panel across the top popped out of place. I cant open the back (glass or entire back hatch) at all! In effect, I am trunkless! This was not a result of any kind fault on my part. It was normal wear and tear. I have been told it is a design flaw- water seepes in and ruins the latches. It usually happens during the winter when water gets in and freezes. They see it all the time supposedly!!!!
