2002 GMC Envoy. Consumer complaint for GM side impact airbag sensor system. Consumer states that this system does not deploy the airbags if the vehicle hits a tree, utility pole or other narrow objects. Lawyer wrote in on behalf of the consumer. The consumer was involved in a heavy side impact crash in which his vehicle crashed into a steel pole precisely on the drivers side door that caused catastrophic and permanent brain damage. The consumers lawyer suggested that GM issue a recall for the defective side airbag sensor.
While driving 45 mph the vehicle's driver side air bag on the seat deployed inadvertently. No injuries were reported. Please provide any additional information.
Vehicle involved in a collisoion at 5 to 10 mph the driver side air bag did not deploy.. consumer stated vehicle was hit broadside directly into the roll bar area between the drivers door and drivers side, consumer's husband suffered severe injuries.
