The contact owns a 2002 GMC Envoy. While driving 55 mph, the low beam headlights malfunctioned and stopped working completely. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The contact informed the dealer of the failure. The dealer stated that the headlights were included in a recall, but the contact's VIN was not included. The failure mileage was 180,000.
While driving 73 mph with cruise control on headlights will shut off. Consumer was able to restart the vehicle and corrected the problem. Dealership was notified.
The low beam head light on the driver side would go out intermittently while driving at night. The problem was caused by the plug melting and causing the builb to go out. Vehicle was taken to the dealer. The dealer informed consumer that the headlight unit needed to be replaced instead of the plug.
