This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
Appears that vehicle manufacturer has opted to not install all rear seat bottom latches on the rear passenger seating. This is being reported by several vehicle owners of the 2002 Chevy trailblazer/GMC Envoy line. In the event of a collision, having only one latch on the larger split seat may cause the the seat to be jarred loose which in turn could potentially result in passenger injury. I would like to know how many other owners have reported this, and if there's plans by GM to correct this situation.
Transmission does not seem to downshift; loud fan noise with loss of power; hard shift into gear from start; missing rear seat latch to hold down seat and easily wobbles when shaken; hook for latch is present but no latch present seems to be design flaw.
There are two latches at bottom of driver's seat for security. There is a hook for two latches, but there is one there. Dealership iis aware of problem.
