passlock system keeps ignition from starting
It started out as an annoyance and has become a major pain. It takes a ten minute time out before I can attempt to start it again. It has taken up to seven tries before it finally starts. Have had it at a independent mechanic for two weeks. $100 dollars later it is back to square one. I called GMC and reported the problem to their overseas answering service. I think she said she was going to notify the dealership I had told her about so they can be aware of the problem. I have an appointment next week to have them look at it. To me it sounds like the ignition switch problem, but of course GMC denies any other reports of the same thing. Go figure.
Update from Dec 28, 2016: Took to dealer. also took the list of solutions provided by your users. They claim to have found the problem right away. They replaced the ignition housing with an updated housing. They even had it in stock. I haven't had any more problems since. $350.
