About These NHTSA Complaints:
This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
I purchased 2004 GMC Canyon used from dealership. I took vehicle home and within a couple days the ABS light came on and would not turn off. I took vehicle back into the dealership and they looked at it and returned the vehicle to me. They said if it comes back on to let them know. Within a week while driving down the road the ABS light came back on and stayed on. Took vehicle back in and they looked at the brakes and found something on them. They removed the gunk as they said and said it was a recall and was no charge for me. I have not found anything about a recall due to the ABS staying on.
Brake problems-pulsating brakes, rotors and drums have been resurfaced and replaced numerous times within 15 months and 12,000 miles. The problem has still not been resolved.
