While driving the all the the service lights came on on the dashboard and the system as well as the stabilitrak notification. The car begin to not want accelerate and I had to put on the hazard lights on a drive very slow home. Upon arrival home the car would not start but would not power off either and the a "Shift to Park" warning message is displayed.
About five months ago, my GMC Acadia started displaying a warning when I would put the car in park, and try to turn it off. The engine would shut off, but the electrical portion of the car would stay on, and would not turn off, because the warning displaying said "SHIFT TO PARK". I have tried every conceivable way to try to get this to go off, but nothing works. My car has stay on for upwards of two and a half hours, to the point where my battery died in the car and left me stranded. There have been numerous accounts of this, as I had read them on forums, yet still no resolution has been published. I have tried taking it to be inspected, but nothing ever comes up. I have two very small children, and if I were to be in public and be stranded because my car wouldn't turn off.... I would be livid.. Also, because of this warning, it prevents the doors from being locked. That is another major concern for me, considering the day in age we're in.
Constant issue of doors not locking or unlocking with key fob. Doors do not lock when put in drive or unlock when put in park. Buttons on the door to lock/unlock do not work. Have had at the dealership 4 times and still the issue hasn't been fixed. They replaced BCM and Harness and the issue still comes and goes.
"Steering Assist reduced drive with care" displayed on screen when I was driving. The temp gauge stayed on C, the a/c did not work and engine fan came on full blast. After a couple days of this, it went back to normal. Coolant was checked and full at correct level.

Intermittent shift to park message displays on the dash. Had to turn the automobile back on to start the engine then moved gear selector to drive then to park. At this point the message disappeared allowing me to turn off the automobile.
2019 Acadia will be shifted into park and parking break applied. Vehicle will then be turned off. When opening the door a message appears on the dash stating "Place vehicle into Park". It takes multiple times of turning on the car, Shifting into another gear, then shifting back to park for the vehicle to realize it is in Park to allow vehicle to shut off. It has happened multiple times. We then received an email from on-star there is a diagnostic code SAC001 (Battery Service) needs to be addressed. This is unacceptable for a vehicle to be this new and have electrical issues.
I-??m not sure but a warning came on that said steering assist reduced drive with care and my temperature gage and AC weren-??t working all of a sudden when it happened
Once vehicle is in park and ignition is shut off, a message will show to "shift in park" when it is in park. When this message appears, it takes several times to shift the car back and forth in order for it to register that it is in park. This occurs occasionally...sometimes more frequent than other times. It just did it today and it hadn't done it in a couple of weeks. The vehicle will not turn completely off or lock until you can get the stick to register it is in park. Sometimes it takes me a second to get the message to go away, other times it takes several mins. Really aggravating! These models are not cheap. This has occurred for well over a year now. I purchased the car November 2019.
After shifting the car into Park and pressing the start button to stop the engine, the message "Shift to Park" appears, and the engine does not shut off. This issue happens intermittently, but it has sometimes taken several minutes of shifting and re-shifting to get the car to turn off.
Shift to park message appears post vehicle being in park! Vehicle has been inspected per Jeff Schmidt auto group (formerly Valentine Buick GMC, Inc! I was told shifter needs replaced as well as harness! Very disappointed do to the fact I brought this vehicle in 2019 off the showroom floor and 3 yrs later there-??s a problem with my shift gear with 36k miles on vehicle..
The Rear Hood was opened to get groceries. All of a sudden the hood came down on my back. I had to push the hood up manually, and tried to close with remote or with button on the hood but the Rear hood would not close. I then had to manually close the hood. On August 11, 2021 I took the car to the dealer and they replaced both Rear Hood Struts that wear leaking fluid. This SUV is only 2 years old with 16000 miles and should not be having these type of safety issues that can potentially be life threatening.
When I put Shifter in PARK, the dash indicator states the car is in PARK. I then push the Start/Stop button to turn the car off, but the dash displays car is not in PARK. Sometimes the car will not shutoff or the car just beeps until I push the Stop/Start button. I cannot lock doors to leave the car. When this occurs or when left in this state the battery runs down, which leaves me stranded. This is certainly a safety issue on various levels. It the car really in Park! What if it on a hill and starts to roll into me or someone else.. Scary!!
We have had our 2019 GMC Acadia at two different dealershiips, recently we had it at the dealership where we purchased it new in 2019. The door locks keep malfunctioning where they either work or don;T work at times. My wife and child get locked out of the vehicle which is a safety issue. The dealerships have woirked on the vehicle a hald dozen times but the issue is still occurring. The orginal delaer name is cochran GM of robinson in pittsburgh pa. The dealer has been great with us but they still can't find the issue.
"shift to park " message started coming on the display even though the vehicle is in park. Once this message comes on, I am unable to turn the vehicle off. I have to keep putting the vehicle in gear and park again several times until the message goes away. I have video of the issue but dont see where it can be uploaded. There is also a class action lawsuit in conn about this issue.
After placing my car in park, and trying to cut off the engine, it alerts me to "shift to park"... I will have to restart my engine, put it in neutral and then back to park, and try again to shut off the car. Sometimes it works on the second attempt, but usually takes 3-4 times of cutting engine off and on, shifting from park to drive to park again. If you attempt to exit the vehicle, the horn will start to honk, and alarm goes off. The car is clearly in park, the shifter can not move forward any further, and the indicator says its in "park" it is only after you press the start/stop button that the alarm indicates it needs to be "shifted into park"
Vehicle does not recognize it's in park. Vehicle won't shut down completely, it honks horn and beeps inside and won't let you lock doors or restart car. Haven't noticed it rolling away like many people state... jerking the shifter seems to get it working so far.. haven't been stranded yet.vehicle was stationary in a parking lot
My GMC was able to go 45 minutes without the key fob I have to have the key fob with me to drive my car and that didn't happen I was able to drive without

First time back in June 10th, 2020, I took it in because of "remote not detected" they could not duplicate the problem, few hours later, same day after I picked the car up it went haywire while parked. It threw itself into theft mode, would not let us manually lock the car, electrical was still on but engine was shut off, alarm, windshield wipers, and lights was going off while I had it towed to the dealership. This time they've told me, the A/C condensation fried the cpu module because the only thing keeping water out of the cpu was a tray. September 9th, 2020 I take it back into the dealership because again the car kept reading "no remote detected". they claimed it was my "dash cam" that caused the issue. October 14th, 2020 the car again went haywire while in motion. This time it threw itself into theft mode, alarm went off, wipers, was reading low fuel (full tank) steering assist turned on and off, brakes started locking mid busy street, steering wheel tightened also. I barely could turn it into a neighborhood street to get off the road. I had the vehicle towed back to the dealership again, through my triple a plan for the second time because I was "out of the area" that they could send a tow truck to. They tell me again condensation got into the cpu and wasn't even sure if it'll happen again if I continue to run the A/C. I picked the car up the next week and on October 25th, 2020 the car again would not read the keys. Every incident but October 25th, 2020 incident, I have let a supervisor from GM know of the situation, his name is [xxx] ext. I have recorded even phone records of every incident that's occurred.
