Fairly new car is starting to have electrical problems. Car jerks when accelerating. Battery won't take a charge, fob is not recognized. They replaced the fob battery and installed a new jumper harness.

After returning from a trip, I pulled the car in the garage and turned it off. All the electrical stayed on but I couldn’t restart my car. The parking brake and the whole dashboard was on. The battery had to completely drain before outside and inside lights turned off. The tow truck driver had to keep pumping the brake to get the brake off, otherwise, he couldn’t get it out of my garage for a tow. The dealership says the only thing wrong is the battery is bad. I had to buy a new battery on May 27, 2020 after being towed from my house.

The root cause back then was the shift to park. They supposedly fixed the problem. This time, after a 4 hour road trip, you would think my battery would still have a charge. There was life in the battery because it took hours to drain before my lights went out.

The service center insist there’s nothing causing this problem. Another GMC dealership said the same thing in 2020 even though I had to get jumped off and then another incident resulting in a tow and the cost of a battery. General Motors knows there’s a problem but the service departments won’t own up to knowing anything. Why should they when they’re making money on labor and batteries? There’s a problem causing the electrical to stay on and the end result is a drained battery. I’m not a mechanic but I’m not stupid either. I’m in the process of looking for a reliable vehicle because the two service dealerships in my area don’t have the customers best interest in mind.
