Our seat switch trim cracked from the top; and slowly got worse. Now; we get in the car and the seat switch panel pops out of the trim cover completely; so I am constantly "snapping" it back in. I have found a replacement (close to $90) and youtube videos to fix; because I know that the 15 minute job will take the dealer 2-3 hours and cost ridiculous amounts of money.
The trim plastic thickness is, IMHO, far too thin for a seat-base. It seems that from the pictures on this site and on google images; that this is a MAJOR problem for GMC and that they just have not made the plastic of a thick enough quality for such a well-leaned on car part.
My 11 year old Honda Ridgeline had much thicker/harder seat trim than this GMC and has outlasted my GMC by over 60,000 miles, even though the GMC was more expensive.
