The contact used a code reader that showed a failure with the sensor in the seat. The contact stated she touched the seat and felt the air bag. The contact stated that the air bag had deployed inside the driver's side seat without impact or crash. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and referred the contact to the NHTSA Hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.
