I go over railroad tracks, the car dies. Starts back up for a minute then dies again. Had it towed to a Dealership in Howell, MI. First call, it's the battery and alternator. $1100 to pick it up. Then I get a call after a day that says "We are not sure what happened. We have to call a retired mechanic. We are stumped." TWO Days later they tell me I have a blown engine even though they replaced spark plug #5 and put it back in. Now a blown engine. The bill is now at $8,296.
Then they call two days later and say its the intake manifold and catalytic converter and my total is now $10,500. I'm positive my engine was not blown at 104,000 miles. Seems like an inexperienced mechanic. No one is taking responsibility at the dealership and GMC will not return my calls even though i have a case number. Gee, my total is now down to $8,209 vs. $10,500. Please NOTE: I purchased this vehicle AT THE DEALERSHIP I brought it to less than two years ago at a price of $16,000. I am now paying over $24,200 for a 2013 GMC Acadia. Thank you GMC and Thank you to the dealership that is taking no responsibility. Why wasn't my VERY FIRST call "you have a blown engine"?
They had my car hostage for over two weeks. I get some crazy spreadsheet as a detailed itemized estimate and the dealership says that is acceptable to the State of Michigan. Needless to say, I would never trust this dealership and do not want my car on their property ever again. I will never buy GMC again. We have over 60 years in our family as GM employees and buying GM Cars. Message me for the Dealership that you want to avoid by all costs.
