A/C stopped working in our Acadia a few weeks ago. After much looking found a hole in the hose that connects the compressor to the condenser. Guess why there was a hole in it?! It was rubbing on an exposed edge of the frame! When I got the old hose assembly out and compared with the new, the new hose had a hard plastic sleeve about three inches long on it. This was an ACDelco OEM replacement, which tells me they know there is an issue here but haven't issued any recalls or service bulletins. Did the work my self, replacement assembly was $136 from AutoZone and thankfully I have a friend with the vacuum and recharge equipment. I estimate a dealer would charge $750+ for this but only cost me materials and 2 hours of my time. This could have been avoided if GM had just admitted the issue and fixed with a $1 plastic sleeve. Never again GM!!
