The last time I had used the wipers to clear off dew they glitched or paused for a brief second. Then during a torrential downpour they paused a couple of times and then quit completely. Had to drive 45 miles looking through a 2 inch spot right above the dash board to see. Not fun in a downpour at night.
I heard about the GMC wiper recall but it was for the Terrain. I'm pretty sure they used the same wiper mechanisms on the Acadia as the Terrain. They were saying it was something to do with the nut coming loose, but another article said something about motors dying. With mine i had 2 problems. First the motor did die. Second, the contraption that the motor mounts to is called a transmission, & both wiper arms connect to it. Well, my transmission was broke by where it bolted to the car. I don't know if one had something to do with the other or not. Not sure if the transmission broke first then the motor burned up. All I know is they had recalls on faulty wiper mechanisms for the Terrain and it should probably include the Acadia.
