The contact owns a 2011 GMC Acadia. While driving approximately 50 mph, the vehicle stalled and failed to restart after several attempts. The vehicle was towed to a dealer for diagnostic testing and the contact was informed that the vehicle was low on fuel. The contact was unaware that the vehicle was low on fuel due to an inaccurate display on the fuel gauge. The technician stated that the fuel gauge failed and the fuel tank needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000. Updated 12/17/14
My car skips as if the engine is not getting enough gas. I will be driving along and the Acadia will shake and do a little skip jump. It does this at least a couple of times a week. I also have to constantly add oil to the truck even when I am 1000 miles out from my next oil change.
Crank no start after parking on an incline (drive way) when fuel level is low (~ 3-4 gallons in the tank.) started when car was pushed to the street. (level).
