I have a 2011 GMC Acadia slt. My car is equipped xenon high intensity discharge (hid tvd) low beams lamps. Both passenger and drivers side low beam light sockets have melted inside each head light assembly. The low beam lamp connectors and portions of each wiring harness have melted from the intense heat of the hid lamp. I contacted GMC customer assistance center to see if a recall has been initiated. No recall. I was given a case number and the contact information for my local customer experience manager. I was encouraged to schedule an appointment at the dealership so my light issue could be looked into by a GMC maintenance team. I was encouraged to resolve my lighting issue with my customer experience manager.

I was driving my 2011 GMC Acadia and all of a sudden the car started to decelerate. I pulled over and turn the car off and then the car would not start again. I had it towed to the dealership. The dealership is saying there is an issue with the timing chain. The dealership said that the timing chain failed. Upon doing research, I see that this is a common issue with GMC models, especially the Acadia model. The dealership is saying that the repair is going to cost me $7500. Given that this is well-known issue with the Acadia model, I feel that this issue should be recalled for the safety of consumers.

Vehicles airbag was activated, brought to Chevy dealership was told it was a wiring issue involving passenger side. Was told there was. O warranty or recalls to cover problem and would require complete rewire of harness as they were unsure which wire was causing the issue ($2,000). Through research found that it is a known problem for 2008-2011 Acadia's but our VIN wasn't designated as being involved in recall. How GM can claim that a vehicle wxperiencing the exact same issue as the recall isn't covered under the recall is ridiculous. This appears to once again be GM disregarding safety caused by their failures in production so that they can make more money.

The drivers side electrical components go haywire on occasion. It happens when driving, or stationary. Happens in all conditions. Sometimes I can't move my seat, roll the windows up or down, or unlock the doors using the drivers side controls. Additionally, the passenger side window will not roll down a majority of the time. The radio also, switches itself from radio to saying there is an ac adapter plugged in so it wont play music, when there is no adapter to input music plugged in. The guard over the seat controls came unhooked about a month after purchase without anyone touching it. I have reattached it back into place numerous times, it doesn't stay. I called dealer and he was confident there would be a recall soon to cover it. Has been almost 3 years and my warranty has already been up, and the recall that was "sure to cover it" has not happened yet.

My 2011 GMC Acadia suddenly drained the battery, I tried to start it and didn't work, the battery was dead, so I replaced the battery with a new one, the next day the new battery was drained like the old one, so I took the battery back to autozone, they checked the battery and was nothing wrong with it, they also checked the vehicle for any possible problems and the diagnostic didn't show any problems, so they replaced the battery again with a new one, ... so I had the new battery installed on my vehicle and went home, the next morning when I tried to start the vehicle the battery was dead, I went online and found forums talking about the same problem, I bought this vehicle for my wife and she got very dissapointed for having this issues with the vehicle, it's the first time that we purchased a GMC, we had always bought Ford vehicles, I called GMC and they don't have any reports with this type of problems but there is a lot of comments on internet from people suffering the same situation, .....I don't know what to do, and can't keep changing the battery everyday to be able to use my vehicle.

Took 2011 GMC Acadia in for regular service today and asked the dealership to change the front drivers side daytime headlight bulb since it had not been working for a few days. Was informed by the service technician that the bulb socket was corroded and melted and will need a whole new headlamp costing 995 for the headlamp and 400 for labor. I asked what could have caused this to happen and was told it seemed to be a problem with GMC Acadia's as they have seen similar problems with others of the same make and year. Obviously this is not a result of normal wear and tear and a manufacturing issue that needs to be looked into. The service technician said there's a possibility that the other side may melt and corrode as well as that is what they have been experiencing with other Acadia's recently.

While driving my 2011 Acadia the low fuel light came on, I go to fill up and there's 3/4 of a tank still full. The next morning I still had a low fuel reading and now a serivce engine light. This has happened multiple times since. This problem with the fuel and/or computer systems causing a false low fuel reading and service engine light has been recalled on other year models, but not 2011. Is there something that can be done to expand the recall" or will GMC correct the issue because it has been recalled on other year models"

I own a 2011 GMC Acadia denali with ~58,800 miles. I noticed that the driver side daytime running lamp (drl) was not working/reflecting as it should. When reviewing the issue, I noticed the drl had melted the light housing and appeared to deform the bulb socket and the wiring connected to the bulb socket. I then took the vehicle to a local dealer to look at and got an initial estimated price of ~$1,100 to fix. All parts discussed are the original parts installed by the manufacturer. I got both a GMC customer service agent and the local dealer service manager involved. Both parties agreed to step up and cover a majority of the cost. After reading other similar complaints on this website and other websites, GMC should consider implementing a recall for safety concerns of a fire starting. I also believe that I should not have to come up with any money for the repair; the repair should be 100% covered by GMC.

I noticed the passenger side drl was not functioning properly - it was out. I subsequently checked the passenger side headlight and found it was working intermittently as was the passenger side drl. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for further inspection. The inspection of the malfunctioning drl determined the housing had overheated and some of the wiring and the reflector for the drl were melted due to apparent overheating. As a result of the overheating, the entire headlamp assembly had to be replaced. Given the apparent heat build up in the headlamp assembly, this is a possible fire hazard. Additionally, given the intermittent operation of the headlamp adjacent to the drl this could be a safety hazard if both headlamps were to fail simultaneously while traversing a very dark country road at night. A review of the internet indicated this is an ongoing problem with this vehicle dating back to 2007.

June 11th 2014, it was a Wednesday. I drove over a set of railroad tracks and all of a sudden my car starts beeping and flashing all of these lights at me. The park assist off, the traction control off, the service stabilitrak" and the ?check engine? lights all come on. We are in town and not going very fast so I don?T notice the car driving any differently at first. I stop and still everything seems fine, except for all these lights flashing at me. When I try to go again is when I realized that there is a problem. My car will not accelerate. I have the gas pushed all the way to the ground and my car is moving at like snail speed, I?M trying to make a left hand turn, up a hill, to get to the parking lot but my car literally will not move! vehicles are swerving to avoid crashing into us, I call a tow truck and my finance. When we do hear back from the GMC dealership they basically tell us that we?re idiots. They test drove the car and looked it over and hooked it up to their fancy machines and there?S nothing wrong with it. August 16th. My fianc is driving, on a highway at 65 all of those same lights come on and my fianc announces, ?omg [xxx], I think it?S happening again. ? sure enough he is unable to accelerate and the vehicle stalls out in the middle of the road. Luckily for us this time we are on flat terrain and we are able to coast into my mother"S driveway. Because it is so late we decided to just go to bed and deal with it in the morning. In the morning, though, we get into the car and it drives perfectly fine. We drive 6 hours back to rapid city, with no issues, although we are sick to our stomachs. Saturday, September 27, 2014 the exact same thing happens.
