The contact owns a 2010 GMC Acadia. The contact stated that after shifting to park, the key was unable to be removed from the ignition switch causing the vehicle to remain on and draining the battery. The contact also stated that the shift gear was very difficult to shift and after shifting to the drive position the shift indicator did not display the proper gear. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who diagnosed that the shift cable failed. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 70,000. Djr
