2010 GMC Acadia. While driving at approx 40 mph, the transmission failed and the rpms began to increase. I tried to slow down and speed up but the rpms do not decrease. The only way to reset is to put the vehicle in park, turn off and restart. This is an ongoing problem. I purchased the vehicle 4/2016 and this has been happening on a regular. I once needed to speed up and move out of the way of oncoming traffic and I barely made it. Thus, this vehicle is hazardous.
I only researched this problem after meeting someone with the same make and model which was a 2011. Once i asked him if he had the same problems and we started swapping stories, we realized that this is a manufacturer defect. The rollback is another danger. when in drive on an incline or decline, the vehicle rolls. The rollback is so drastic that if on a hill, you need 2 feet, (one on the brake, one on the gas). I have bumped vehicles several times. This is the only vehicle that I have HATED. Worse vehicle ever.
