I have had dozens of vehicles over the years. I have never had one like this.

I did not buy the response that "sand, gravel or debris is getting caught in there".

I don't live near the beach, nor a factory that debris could be in the air.

I was so tired of looking at the windows of this $40k truck, that I contacted GM executive offices. They had a regional rep come out and take a look. He agreed and had all for passenger windows replaced. Nine months later, the glass is scratched again!

(windows not being opened as much sep-april)

Acadia 3.6L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 15,850 miles

I purchased a GMC 2008 Acadia in 08/08 brand new. I also purchased GM's Costguard coverage which I was told covered everything not covered under the standard warranty. In December 09 I noticed that something was scratching my drivers window every time I opened or closed it. Other windows affected also but less severe than drivers. I took to dealership ASAP and they said road salt had gotten in the tracks and scratched all my windows. They cleaned the tracks but said I was stuck with all the scratched windows.I contacted GM customer service, and reached the end of the line I was told by their representative TINA and WAS stuck with scratched windows. My vehicle was 16 months old with under 16,000 miles when this occurred.Gm rep's contend it's environmental damage and therefore not covered and I contend it is either poor design, material, or workmanship.I have NEVER had this occur in the previous 12 cars & trucks I've owned, some for as long as 21 years. I paid GMC 35,000 base plus 1,800 for Costguard coverage and I will have to pay for a brand new vehicle with EVERY POWER WINDOW SCRATCHED.And because the windows are factory tinted the damage is very visible and visually disturbing. Would appreciate any advice or help.
