About These NHTSA Complaints:
This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
The seat belt latches in the second row bench seat in our 2008 GMC Acadia present an injury risk. They are made of metal, extend approximately three inches above the seat, and are immovable. When a person tries to "slide" across the seat the latch can cause injury. It would be worse it a person sit on the latch directly. We have had two people with pain and bruises from contact with these latches.
