I have a 2008 Acadia that has a timing chain issue. I don't understand how GM doesn't see these are real issues with these cars. This is costing me $3000 to repair time away from work. How can this be I take really good care for this car every 3000 miles oil change. This is so totally upsetting that this is happening and GM REFUSES to see the failure of this product. My father was a GM employee for yrs I will never buy from this company again!!!!

So, after already investing $6000+ in my GMC Acadia this year for transmission related errors. I had a service engine light. I called Onstar and they reported a transmission error code and some other things. I took it BACK to the dealer who replaced my transmission and they said there was no transmission error that my timing belt needed to be changed for $2600. They CLAIM they told me about when they fixed my transmission and I declined service.

I do recall my biggest concern was what next major repair was going to occur as I was already out of $6000 for one issue that the dealers continue to say were not connected.

They service people NEVER said you also have $2600 worth of work that needs to be done. I was seriously considering whether we should repair OR replace our vehicle. Even if the document says we declined service, NO ONE talked to me about this being something that REALLY needed to be done or even should be done.

So now I bring the car in and they are cute about telling me that this service will cost $2600 after I already paid $6000 to repair this car. Who pays $8600 in repairs on ONE car in ONE year.

GMC knows these issues are sitting right around the corner and they are not doing anything to take responsibility for them NOR are they doing anything to inform the customer or help pay for them.

These issues occur while we are driving our car on the highway. This trip we were headed back from El Paso, TX to Colorado Springs with our entire family in the car. We continued to get multiple error codes which was quite alarming. Fortunately, we made it home safely and I was able to drive the car to the dealership.

GMC should be aware that they are putting lives in danger by not being truthful and helpful. They are causing military families unnecessary stress. They are causing families financial harm by being so flippant about car issues and not helping the families come up with a whole solution instead of nickeling and diming them. It almost seems like they are fixing one problem and creating another. I have NO faith that the people are being honest.

1) GMC never reimbursed me from a rental and hotel from a warranty repair. We were left stranded on the side of the road when the car suddenly stopped. 2) A service person tried to overcharge me even though I was already paying over $2000 I did not have to give.

We have a 2002 GMC Envoy and it has not had nearly as many issues. There is clearly a problem with this model of GMC Acadias and GMC is NOT accepting responsibility. They are passing on cost to their customers. They have no concern for the safety of families who are driving these cars with their precious children when all of these issues arise. I am literally disgusted that GMC is making any effort to take responsibility for these issues. This is sad especially when we have been loyal - buying GMC cars, getting all of our cars serviced there, and even introducing other families to GMC Acadias. Those people who bought later models are having much better experiences. WE were the guinea pigs and we are being treated terribly. Someone should do something about this.

Acadia LTS 3.6L. V6

The traction malfunction. Came on hundreds of times, when I went to my seller they tolded me they have to open the engine and change the timing chain but it seems that the whole engine needs an overall repair, for a GMC car, that was totally unacceptable. Need not to say the 3000 dollars I paid to fix the problem. And three weeks of car rental and the worst thing, the light working still comes on each day.

08 Acadia went in for the 3rd time for the passenger side airbag, after getting it back after the dealer had it for a week, I drove 6 miles and the engine light came on, I was told that it was the timing chain and had to be replaced. The timing chains on the 08's are NOT covered under the timing belt recalls of the 07 and 09. GM agreed to cover all but $975 (which looks like the labor costs) I have yet to have it repaired as of yet, trying to get GM to cover the whole thing
