The contact owns a 2007 GMC Acadia. The contact started the ignition and activated the windshield washer. The fluid dispensed quickly and forcefully from the reservoir and failed to disengage. The failure occurred whenever she activated the windshield washer device. One year prior to the failure, the contact received a recall notice for NHTSA campaign id number 08V410000 (visibility:windshield wiper/washer:linkages). The authorized dealer refused to repair the vehicle due to a misunderstanding. The vehicle has not been repaired and will be taken to another dealer for the recall repair. The failure and current mileages were 32,000.
On two occasions while driving my car on a snowy day, on a major highway my windshield wipers stopped working, almost causing a major crash. The dealer stated that the rod that connects the wipers to the motor broke off causing the wipers to stop. I had to have the car flatbed to a GMC dealer. There is no recall on the failure. The dealer just keeps making the same connection. This failure makes driving my car on bad weather days very dangerous. My wife is afraid to drive this car in bad weather.
