Same problem as the other gal with the 2007 GMC Acadia, Jolting. It starts shaking, giving an error on the stabilitrak and then dies. Just randomly in the middle of driving. Very dangerous!

It's been a few months since the problem started. When it first started, while driving, the car jolts, the check engine light turns on and off. If I turn the car off, it would not start, not even crank. I kept driving it as the problem was very intermittent. I would never know when it would happen.

Finally, it showed me a message while driving. The message said: "traction off control" and my steering wheel locked and I could not accelerate to more than 10 mph. This could have cause an accident! Luckily I was on a street and not on the freeway..I turned off the car and waited, then turned it on and it drove me home just fine. About a week after that, my husband was driving it and it did the same thing, except this time he was on the freeway! This time the message said " check stabilitrack". And it did not turn on for him. We had to get it towed to a local mechanic.

I've taken it to two mechanics who say they can not find any codes! I took it to dealer, and they hooked it up and could not find any codes. They say they need to check it when the check engine light is on in order to diagnose it. Well, the problem is intermittent, so how can I get it checked? The check engine light turns on and off...Am I supposed to wait until I get hit from the back and the car completely dies in order to finally get a "code"?? It's been at a shop for about two weeks and they still can not find the problem. They have many guesses, but no real answer. What is wrong with my car? I refuse to drive it with my kids in it.
