The contact owns a 2001 Ford Windstar. The contact stated while driving 15 MPH, the rear axle fractured. There was no warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed back to the residence. The vehicle had been diagnosed by an independent mechanic. The contact was informed that the failure was due to a stress crack caused by excessive corrosion. The vehicle had not been repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and determined that the VIN was not included in a recall. The failure mileage was approximately 105,000.

The contact owns a 2001 Ford Windstar. While driving 55 mph, the vehicle began to shake. The contact discovered that the rear wheels were bent. There were no warning indicators illuminated. Additionally, the contact stated that clamps were placed on the axle in 2015. The vehicle was towed to quality auto mall (55 state rt 17, rutherford, NJ 07070, (201) 935-2400) where the failure was diagnosed as a fractured axle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified and did not assist. The failure mileage was 195,000. The VIN was not available.

Upon further inspection she noticed that the axle had fractured, and that the tires were tilted. The dealer was notified, but no assistance was provided. No repairs have been made. The failure and current mileage was 103000.
