The contact stated that he received notification of NHTSA campaign id numbers: 10V385000 (suspension: Rear:axle: Non-powered axle assembly), 00V351000 (electrical system:wiring:interior/under dash) and 01V261000 (visibility: Windshield wiper/washer: Motor) and the vehicle was taken to the dealer for repairs. The vehicle was left with the dealer for over a month and once the vehicle was released to the contact, the power steering would abnormally pull the vehicle to the right. In addition, the windshield washer would only spray to one side instead of both. The anti-lock brake warning light was also illuminating on a consistent basis. The dealer was contacted and they advised him to junk the vehicle. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 159,000.

The dealer stated that his VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign id number 01V261000 (visibility:windshield wiper/washer:motor), although the failures were identical. The contact would be responsible for the repair costs. The manufacturer did not provide any assistance. The speed was unknown. The failure and current mileages were 136,000.
2000 Ford Windstar with multiple manufacturer defects. Consumer states these are some of the problems windshield washer fluid pump failure, reverse sensor system failure, brake light switch is sticking and more. The message center started to read error when displaying the outdoor temperature. The consumer found one of the male prongs on the sensor plug had corroded and broken off, which indicated that the sensor plug was not adequately protected from moisture. One of the coolant lines to the rear heater corroded and failed at the point where it crossed under the frame at the rear of the vehicle. The check engine light illuminated. The mechanic stated the engine was running lean due to an air leak. The coolant crossover tube sprang a leak.
The consumer stated that the anti-lock brake system warning light flashed intermittently while driving and the brakes made noise. The battery and wipers failed on the same day. The transmission was replaced but continued to experience problems.
