The contact owns a 2000 Ford Windstar. The contact stated that the engine would not shut off after several attempts. In order to shut off the engine, the contact disconnected the distributor cable. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who stated that the failure may have been attributed to a defect within the steering column. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer would not offer any assistance. The current and failure mileages were 150,000.
Consumer states while traveling without any indication vehicle lost all power steering. Dealer was contacted and replace steering rack pump and pulley.
