I pulled over and had the vehicle towed to midas muffler. Midas replaced the axle within several days at a total cost of $912.69. Attempts to have this issue remedied with Ford and kislter Ford were denied for want of warranty. Ford mechanics have informed me that this is clearly a defect which the manufacturer should be responsible for.
