This makes the second time in less than 4 months we've had to replace the front windshield on our 2020 Connect. According to our glass installer, they've had to replace over 30 windshields in the last month due to the way the Connects larger windshield is designed. The ironic thing here, is that we hate the glass our installer mounted in our van. The van started out with a crystal clear glass and when that glass cracked, Safelite installed an aftermarket tinted glass windshield.
This time around, we trusted the advice of an audio/security installer and used a different glass installer they suggested. That was a big mistake. Both times our glass cracked and both installers went through the insurance. Now we're stuck with a windshield we hate and doesn't offer any protection from the harsh sunlight. Moral of the story, we should have went back to Safelite to have them install a new tinted glass like they did before. The issue remains, 2 windshields in less than 4 months is not typically or common.
