Possible Fix for the Trans Shuddering Issue:

If you're a TC owner and have driven the van with this shuddering transmissions issue, then you're aware of what this feel like. I'm happy to report that last April 2024 I had the trans serviced with the BG Products fluid. This fluid is what is known as a low viscosity ATF fluid, Although the service was not the full flush and fill, the BG products has had a chance to work through the system. We can honestly say, we've not experience ANY shuddering issues for the last month and this is great news for all other TC owners.. Forget about going to the dealership to have your system serviced with the same fluid.. You need to switch to the BG products fluid or an alterative. Some time this year we'll be switching fluids again as Motul has come on board with our build. This means we'll be using the Motul ATF Low Viscosity Fluids from now on. But it's obvious that the motorcraft fluids from the factory is adding to this shuddering issue and we've stop using it.

transmission hesitation

Just found a possible cure for the 2020 Ford Transit Connect 2.0L I4 Cargo. The van started life with a set of 16'' 215/55/R16 tires and the van shuddered all the time. Later we upgraded to a set of 17'' wheels & 215/50/R17 tires, but still encountered the same shuddering issue. As of the 18th, we upgraded to a set of 19'' wheels with 245/40/R19 tires and for the last week, we've encountered ZERO shuddering of the transmission. Possible cure is that because perhaps the transmission is geared more towards larger wheels and tires. The testing continues...

Transit Connect XL 2.0L I4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 25,000 miles

Since purchasing our 2020 Transit Connect, the transmission has increasingly been getting worse. After taking the van to a local ford dealership, we were told not to worry about this issue and return in 100,000 miles for the routine maintenance at that time. I've known that the Transit Connect has had issue with their transmission in the past and seeing how our local Ford dealership is not willing to handle or correct this issue, I'm going to have the translation survived with the use the BG Products & their Life time warranty/guaranty at another dealership 3 hours drive away. If your Connect is suffering with transmission hesitation or shuttering, have your transmission services with the BG products. However you will have to locate a Ford dealership who offers the BG Products as not all service centers have the tools necessary to handle the Connects "sealed" transmission.
