The possibility of getting rear ended or causing a wreck occurs dozens of times a day. When your driving at a low speed and you wish to accelerate up to the proper speed when merging into traffic the vehicle will lose it's momentum and drop the RPMs to the minimum.
This will happen ALL DAY LONG!
Ford has had the vehicle at least 5 times and says it never happen to the tech working on it.
I here the F-150 had this issue a few years back and it was a computer issue(very costly).
