About These NHTSA Complaints:
This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
The alternator and regulator failed. Parts are available for inspection. Safety was at risk as vehicle could stop or loose nighttime electrical lighting at highway speeds without any prior warning due to sudden loss of electric power. Selling dealer has inspected and confirmed failure of above parts. Components have not been otherwise inspected. The only symptom of imminent failure was a "whineing" noise form the engine compartment audible only when vehicle was not moving. There were no warning lamps, messages, or other signals. This failure occurred at 230 engine hours total and 7000 road miles on unit.
I've been waiting on a van for 500 days from Ford Motor Company. They built the van with a recall and now aren't giving me a time when the repair will be completed.
Blind spot detection system has frequent false alerts when no vehicles are present. Also, it often does not activate when a vehicle IS present. Totally unreliable and a safety risk if depended upon. As you can see in the attached photo, there are no vehicles in my blind spot yet the light continues to come on. He will often not come on when cars are present.
