2017 Ford Transit
TSB Document:
Affected Component: ENGINE (PWS)
- Summary
- SOME 2015-2017 TRANSIT VEHICLES BUILT ON OR BEFORE 17-OCT-2016, EQUIPPED WITH A 3.2L ENGINE, AND WITH LOW TIME IN SERVICE (LESS THAN 8,000 KM (5,000 MILES)) MAY EXHIBIT AN OIL LEAK FROM AREAS SUCH AS THE CRANKSHAFT FRONT SEAL, CRANKSHAFT REAR SEAL, OR FUEL INJECTION PUMP DRIVE ACCESS COVER. THESE EARLY OIL LEAKS MAY BE CAUSED BY HIGH CRANKCASE PRESSURE DUE TO AN IMPROPERLY MOLDED OIL SEPARATOR IN THE VALVE COVER. IN ADDITION TO REPAIRING THE OIL LEAK, INSTALL A NEW VALVE COVER. FOR CLAIMING, USE CAUSAL PART 6K271 AND APPLICABLE LABOR OPERATIONS IN SECTION 06 OF THE SERVICE LABOR TIME STANDARDS (SLTS) MANUAL.
