Went to get new tires put on my vehicle and heard a banging or clicking coming from front end. Was told by mechanic that it was not tie rod noises but it definitely was coming from rack and pinion system. This vehicle was purchased used. I took it to a ford dealership and asked if there was a recall on this vehicle for this problem. The person at the dealership said no. Made an appointment to check it out but that is not until Monday. The mechanic stated that this rack and pinion is sealed and it is electric and it should not be bad at only 30k miles. I believe this is an on going problem with this vehicle and Ford should recall them.
Update from Jun 25, 2019: The ford dealership stated it was a wheel bearing and it should be covered by warranty, Not sure if this is correct bought the vehicle used.It has been 3 weeks did not receive a call back from the dealership so called today and inquired when am I going to get service done and it has been 3 weeks. The person who answered the phone said maybe the part didn't come in yet. 3 weeks to get a wheel bearing .So not sure if this is really the problem or not will update when they decide to fix it.
