The contact owns a 2015 Ford Taurus. The contact stated that while driving at unknown speeds, the service vehicle soon warning light illuminated and the vehicle began to violently shake and stall. The contact managed to coast the vehicle off the freeway into a parking lot where the contact turned off and restarted the vehicle and the engine was still running. The vehicle resumed normal operation prior to the failure. The vehicle was having a service check for the oil change at an independent mechanic who diagnosed the vehicle, however, was unable to duplicate the issue. The vehicle then was taken to the dealer where a second diagnostic test was performed, and it was determined the throttle body actuator failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 38,000.
