2015 Ford Taurus SEL 3.5L V6. Water started leaking from my sun roof during a rain storm. My headliner was holding water and started to get water stains. I took the vehicle to the Ford dealership to get repaired. The dealership said that the water is coming in from the front windshield and they will have to send it out to a glass shop to get replacement. I inform the dealership that was impossible due to the fact that the windshield is lower than the headliner.
I took my car to Safe-lite glass and they confirmed that my factory seal windshield was not leaking - it was the water tray that was not designed to hold much water before the water drain tubes can drain the excess water. If your sunroof leaks, do not let any car repair business replace your perfectly good windshield. There is no solution to the leak problem; maybe larger water drain tubes..
