I travel to from Kansas to Colorado only to get stuck when my car wouldn't start. I would push the start button and car sounded like it wanted to start but wouldn't kick over. Had to have car towed and rent a car to get home. When car repair shop called said Ford had issued a service tech fail on this problem. Basically that they knew of the issue but no recall has been issued. To boot the part was on back order and Ford wouldn't have any for 2 weeks!!!! Meanwhile I can't afford a rent a car for two weeks.
Went to my local Ford dealership in Kansas and they actually had the part. Was the last one. They confirmed that the part was on back order. I purchased the part overnight the part to Colorado so my vehicle could be fixed. I would like to know when does a car part get recalled. I know there is a recall on this part but not for my model.
