I described the issue to the dealership, McCombs Ford West in San Antonio,Tx, one after purchasing the vehicle. The battery died while at the movies. A few hours later it stared with no problem. I turned the car into the dealer and they could not locate the problem but replaced the low battery. This was the first year. The second year it happened again.
Diagnostic test states no error codes. Again, low battery reading. Battery replaced under warranty again. The third year, same thing...no error codes. Battery replaced. Forth year I took it to a different t dealership, Red McCombs San Antonio, TX, I had just picked up my vehicle from Ford West service dept supposedly it was good to go. Red McCombs stated on arrival the battery needed replacing before they could do a diagnostic test.
It took an arm and a leg to get Ford to cover the cost of a battery because it was not covered under the extended warranty. The next with the new battery installed, it failed the diagnostic test. Red McCombs kept it three days before returning it to me. They said no parasitic drain was found. Battery passed the test. This was a month ago. I’m going to get my battery tested again, I’m confident that the battery will be low again.
My extended warranty just ended and Ford Customer Relations regional Operation Manager states they did their best to satisfy my concerns and have closed my case. I am frustrated. Anyone have any ideas what I should do?
