Loss of electric power steering assist. June 2, 2015 report. Campaign #15V340000. This VIN is not in the recall but is doing the exact same thing as the ones in the recall. This happens intermittently over the last year.
Power steering stops working. Hundreds of thousands recalled for this expensive faulty/ poor engineering. 2013 Taurus but not my. Called Ford they don't even want to talk to you. Don't use the car anymore. Can cause a serious accident and I don't see how Ford wouldn't be responsible. Known issue they just pick and choose who gets helped. When starting car the power steering assist failure code prompts and you can't drive the car. I'm sure it can happen when you are driving. Car becomes too hard to handle even for a man, can't even imagine if it happen to my wife.
Power steering assist keeps faulting out going down the road. So much that it is currently out now. Hazardous to drive on the road. Some 2013 were recalled but my VIN number wasn't. why not.
The power steering module fault light came on. The power steering quit working. Ford had to replace the power steering gear and control module. The 2013 Taurus has been recalled for this issue but not our VIN number. This occurred while the car was stationary which was fortunate. I believe that our vehicle should be covered in this recall since this appears to be the same problem as the previous recall..
My 2013 Ford Taurus sho, power steering assist will shut down occasionally, steering becomes very difficult. Have to stop and turn car off and back on to to reengage steering assist. It has happened while driving, backing up and at start up.

The contact continued to drive without power steering ability to his residence. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 133,000. The vehicle is currently at a Ford dealership (place motors in webster MA) awaiting repair. Dealership has informed me that the power steering rack/motor need to be replaced. Ford was notified, but stated that this vehicle's VIN number does not match the very similar recall (NHTSA#15V340000). Codes found in the computer were U3000-96, U3000-49. This issue occurred on an off ramp and had this failure occurred with someone not as strong or with an elderly person, this would have most certainly caused an accident. The steering wheel takes an extreme amount of effort to turn. Address is incorrect.

The contact pulled over, turned off and restarted the vehicle, and the power steering completely failed. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic, but was not diagnosed or repaired. Takata recalli am the owner of a 2013 Ford Taurus that I bought in 2016. It was a 1 owner no accidents and 36000 miles on it. I was never informed of any recalls by Ford or the dealership. Your website says it was fixed so I cannot see what recall out of the eight it has. I was driving to work one morning doing maybe 15mph around a right hand turn, when my passenger side tire almost fell off from being disconnected at the half shaft and link shaft. My traction stability light came on and I lost call control of the vehicle. I ended up hitting a traffic light. I had minimal cosmetic damage to the vehicle. But due to all of the powertrain work needing to be done from this the bill was over 5000$. I had to claim it on insurance and now I've been paying 5000$ a year or insurance on a car worth maybe 8000. I did not know about these recalls until recently and I am upset I was never notified because if I was doing the speed limit at 55. I would be dead. This is a hide safety concern of mine. I still have the repair bills and for hitting a stoplight at roughly 5mph could not have cause that much damage.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford Taurus. While driving 60 mph, the contact's steering wheel seized. The vehicle drove into a ditch as the contact attempted to regain control of the steering wheel. The contact and his spouse had to turn the steering wheel together to get the vehicle out of the ditch. A message appeared on the instrument panel indicating "service power steering" and the traction warning indicator illuminated. The contact took the vehicle to value Ford and Chrysler (205 South, state hwy 9, morris, mn 56267, (800) 568-5431) where it was diagnosed that a new steering system needed to be installed. The vehicle was not repaired. The mechanics were awaiting further diagnostic tests. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and would not assist. The failure mileage was 125,000. The consumer stated the rack and pinion was replace a week later.
When driving down my city road around 20 mph, I was braking to turn in a store parking lot then suddenly my power steering when out with a fault code on my dash telling me that the car is in manual steering mode. The car was extremely hard to turn which almost created an accident since I could not turn in time to avoid collision.
No electronic power steering. Ford had a recall on this issue but it doesn't cover this car by the VIN. But it's the same issue with the recall. I talked to Ford and basically told me sorry about your luck. Is there anything else I can do about this cause I don't have 2500$ to fix their problem. The car only has 61000 miles on it I've been driving around with little to no power steering for four to five months.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford Taurus. While exiting the garage, the steering lost power and then returned to normal. In addition, the "power steering system required maintenance" message appeared. The contact called sioux falls Ford at 605-361-9601 (located at 4901 w. 26th St, sioux falls, sd 57106) and was informed to bring the vehicle in for diagnostic testing. The technician diagnosed and updated the power steering software. The contact was informed that there was no recall for the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that there was no recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 95,000.
I stopped for lunch and when I came back out and turned on the car the power steering light came on. I could barely move the steering wheel and it was extremely hard to move the vehicle in any direction. I had my children with me and it was really hot outside so I managed to drive the vehicle very carefully to the nearest walmart supercenter where I could take the children inside and take care of the vehicle. The car got towed to the nearest Ford dealership where they informed me that it would cost me 2200 dollars to fix the problem because my car was not part of the recall NHTSA campaign number: 15V340000. This was extremely upsetting because the recall specifically says what parts of the vehicle are affected but is VIN specific. Ford won't do anything about
The power steering went on the car. It is hard to turn at slow speed but a little better at higher speeds. Called Ford after reading about the recall and issues others with similar Ford cards had. For some reason, my car doesn't fall into the similar recall which doesn't make sense.
The contact owns a 2013 Ford Taurus. While driving 20 mph, the power steering was faulty and it took excessive force to turn the steering wheel. Also, the check engine indicator illuminated. The contact called hamden Ford of Connecticut (2215 dixwell avenue, hamden, ct 06514, 203-281-7501) and was informed that he would have to pay for the repair since there was no recall. The contact stated that the vehicle exhibited the same symptoms as listed in NHTSA campaign number: 15V340000 (steering). The contact took the vehicle to an independent mechanic who agreed that the vehicle displayed symptoms of the recall. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and did not assist. The failure mileage was 90,000.

Power steering failed. Gave warning message (power steering assist fault) on dash and wouldn't steer. Found out 13 Taurus's built February and before had recall on this (15S18), but this car was made in September. It still has the issue, but no recall.
