While starting my car a light came on stating power steering assisted failed. Turned car off, sat for a couple of minutes tried again no light. Drove 11 miles to work called larry miller Ford to bring in. Drove 11 miles home. Looked on Ford website said there was a recall for all 2013 models made in Chicago for recall code 15S18. Took to dealer that was the diagnostic code they got but said my VIN not covered. Wants 2500 to repair. My car has two plaques that say made in Chicago.one in glovebox and one in door frame. Car has 70107 miles. I have to repair because I have to drive 1800 miles next week to handle closing my fathers estate. I feel like this should be covered under recall.
While driving, the steering wheel becomes extremely difficult to turn. I lose power steering and have only manual steering. It doesn't matter what type of street or conditions are, this issue occurs no matter what and continues to occur. No system checks have come up on the vehicle.

Steering angle sensor code cib00-64 - was diagnose to be issue. Though recall was approved on this make/model steering:electrical power assist systems-this car is not cover because they claim it was built after date suggested in recall Ford 15S18. Without warning and while car is in motion while driving on street/highway and in motion the steering wheel becomes stiff (no play in wheel as normally it has) when you proceed in making turns the car loses all power and shuts down causing the engine to shut off. When this happens it will normally start again, once started again the steering wheel becomes very hard to steer, making it almost impossible to steer. Then without warning you will have normal function of the steering. Causing you to lose control of the car because when it re-corrects the steering failure, it often occurs while we are over compensating for the lost of steering, causing the car to go out of control.

In 2015 Ford recalled the electric power assist system for steering on the 2011-2013 Ford Taurus. I currently have a 2013 Taurus that is not coming up with the recall but is having this issue. It is very unsafe as the steering wheel sticks and does not turn properly.
Steering wheel shakes are getting worse every month. While driving, steering wheel sticks during turning and gets stuck. Straightening the wheel after a turn is hard to complete. Have to pull steering wheel hard to get out straightened. These issues happen both while driving slow and higher speed.
Power steering assist failure the same as what is described in recall 15S18 ( NHTSA campaign number: 15V34000 ) but cars made after a certain date are not covered by that recall, even when the exact same issue is happening. The recall needs to be extended to later models for the same issue.

Power steering in my vehicle went out in my vehicle while driving on the freeway. I did a bunch of research on 2013 Ford Taurus and discovered there was a recall issued by the manufacturer tuer but my VIN was not covered. I read in several forums that this is happening to hundreds of other with the same make and model, all typically happening in the 80K -100K mileage. Several attempts were made by myself and the dealer to doing the repair to get assistance and I was just given the run around over and over, every person I spoke to had a different answer or information. The dealer never received a response from the manufacturer, so I paid the $3100 in full. I confirmed with the dealer this was the exact part that needed to be replaced in recall 15V340000 that my vehicle was not covered under. I strongly believe they missed a large section of VIN's that were affected and we are having to pay to replace the parts or our vehicles are just left un able to drive.
Vehicle keeps slipping and making clunking noises when going down the highway. I didn't have this issue until a month ago and it seems to be getting worse. The guy at belle tire said the rack is a common issue with Ford Taurus'. trying to keep away from bump and turns but I have a lot when driving in grand rapids. I've almost hit cars because it randomly pulls me in one direction. Vehicle is only moving when it happens and happens both on the highway and when I'm going in reverse with the wheel turned all the way in one direction.
My break light came on and my power steering went out it's saying there is no recall on my car but I think it should be because something is wrong with
Started car power steering default came on will not go off this happen twice first time went off but second time will not go off. Can't turn the car either direction.
Steering becomes difficult while driving the vehicle in cold weather. Vehicle was allowed to warm up for approximately 10 minutes before being driven on city streets as well as highway. All forms of turning the wheel (either turning onto a different street in the city or a lane change on the highway) were difficult to do due to a lack of assistance from the electronic steering assist system.
On 12/11 at 2:30pm power steering failed without warning 5 minutes after starting and turning right onto johnnie dodds (city street). Warning message appeared indicating power steering failure. Drove several miles, parked and shut off car. Restarted about 10 minutes later and no problems since. Have driven about 35 miles with no problems. Concerned for safety of sudden steering failures in future. Ford service advisor at jones Ford indicated that they probably wouldn't find anything wrong since they can't recreate the problem.
The power steering system will suddenly go out without warning. The dash shows a power steering fault code. To clear the issue, the vehicle has to be put into park, ignition turned off and back on. Tends to happen most often when it is hot outside (not sure why) and typically at lower speeds. This has been occurring for months and I have not seen a recall on my particular VIN although there are reports of the same make/model having the issue.
