The contact owns a 2013 Ford Taurus. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle, the check engine warning light remained illuminated, and the vehicle would not properly accelerate while depressing the accelerator pedal. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who was unable to determine the cause of the failure. After retrieving the vehicle, the failure immediately reoccurred. The vehicle was returned to the dealer who determined that the catalytic converter was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was 77,880.
