I have a 2013 Ford Taurus Limited, and on Saturday July 30th, I pulled out of my subdivision into traffic and after driving less than a 1/4 mile a picture of a wrench appears on the dash and the car starts to sputter and wont accelerate, I had to immediately pull over and I turned the car off. When I checked under the hood my battery cables were extremely dirty, so I used a wire brush to clean them, got back in and the car started fine. I stopped at Auto-zone to purchase battery cleaner spray, sprayed it and went on my way, no problems for the rest of the day. On Sunday July 31st, got in my car to run errands, about a half hour of driving the light came on again, my car started shaking and decelerated rapidly, this time there was a lot of traffic, I was lucky I didn't get hit from behind. I pulled over and turned the car off, restarted it and proceeded to drive with no problems the rest of the day. I returned home and began to investigate this issue on the internet and found several complaints about this same problem. I don't understand why this is not a recall, because it is definitely a safety issue that needs to be corrected. I took my car today to the dealer and was told that unless the warning is on the screen, there is nothing they can do because they need a computer code to diagnose the problem, that I could drive it and when it comes on don't turn the car off and bring it to them so they can get the code???????? This is crazy to me because I have to drive worrying if my car is going to do this again, or if I am going to have an accident because of this problem, what happened to the old manual way of finding the issue before computers?????
