The contact owns a 2010 Ford Taurus. On several occasions, while the brake pedal was depressed, the brake pedal traveled to the floorboard. As a result, the contact's foot came in contact with the accelerator pedal. The accelerator pedal became depressed while the brakes were also being applied. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the failure was caused by a manufacturing design fault and not a defect. The vehicle was not repaired. The vehicle was also taken to millinax Ford new smyrna beach (2317 fl-44, new smyrna beach, fl 32168, (386) 428-9094), but was not diagnosed. The manufacturer was not notified. The approximate failure mileage was 55,000. Updated 8/23/18
